Chief Financial Officer
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of this non-profit organization serves as a key strategic partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, providing executive leadership over all financial operations, long‑term planning, and organizational sustainability. This role oversees accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, risk management, and financial strategy while leading a high‑performing finance team.
Key Responsibilities

Advise the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on financial strategy, organizational growth, and long‑term sustainability.

Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and scenario planning to support mission‑aligned decision‑making.

Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, compliance, audits, and internal controls.

Serve as the primary financial liaison to the Board and its Finance, Audit, and Investment Committees.

Ensure accurate, timely, GAAP‑compliant financial reporting and strong governance practices.

Lead enterprise risk management, insurance oversight, and financial systems optimization.

Manage relationships with auditors, financial institutions, funders, and regulatory agencies.

Oversee investments, reserves, capital planning, and long‑term financial sustainability strategies.

Partner with Development to align financial strategy with fundraising, grants, and revenue diversification.

Lead and develop the finance team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

7–10 years of progressive financial management experience with expert GAAP knowledge.

Minimum 3 years of nonprofit accounting and grant compliance experience.

CPA licensure preferred.

Proven experience working with Boards and Finance/Audit Committees.

Demonstrated success in strategic financial planning and organizational leadership.
