A well‑established public accounting firm is seeking a Tax Manager to lead client engagements, manage complex tax work, and provide strategic guidance to both individuals and businesses. Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Review

Manage and review complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.

Oversee federal, state, and local tax filings to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Identify tax‑saving opportunities and provide proactive recommendations to clients.

Handle multi‑state tax issues, consolidated returns, and specialized industry filings as needed.
Client Management & Advisory

Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, delivering timely communication and high‑quality service.

Provide strategic tax planning, consulting, and year‑round guidance.

Build strong client relationships and support business development efforts when appropriate.
Leadership & Team Development

Supervise, train, and mentor staff and senior accountants.

Review workpapers, provide feedback, and support professional development.

Assist with workload planning, scheduling, and workflow management during peak seasons.
Research & Technical Expertise

Stay current on tax law changes and emerging regulations.

Conduct technical research and prepare memorandums on complex tax issues.

Support partners with special projects, IRS correspondence, and audit responses.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s in Taxation preferred.

CPA required.

5–8+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.

Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.

Experience reviewing complex returns and managing client relationships.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, especially during busy season.

Proficiency with tax software (e.g., UltraTax, Lacerte, ProSystem fx) and strong Excel skills.
